LESBIAN COUPLE ATTACKED BY A GROUP OF MEN AFTER THEY REFUSED TO KISS FOR THE MEN'S PLEASURE

I came a cross this story and thought it was fake at first only to sadly realise how horribly true it is. What happened?

Two girls in a romantic relationship were riding a bus by West Hampstead in London last week, when a group of men started chatting to them. They were all sitting on the second level of the bus, the group of young men began harassing the women and when they discovered they were a couple, the demanded they kiss each other as made sexual gestures at them. When the women refused, the men attacked them, causing them multiple injuries. The men also stole their purses and phones before they made a run for it, leaving the two women bleeding on the bus before police arrived at the scene and they were taken to hospital.

One of the women, Ms Geymonat, said: "They surrounded us and started saying really aggressive stuff, things about sexual positions, lesbians and claiming we could kiss so they could watch us. To ease the situation I tried to make some jokes, like Chris wasn't understanding because she didn't speak English. She even acted as if she was sick... but they started throwing coins. The next thing I know Chris is in the middle of the bus and they are punching her. So I immediately went there by impulse and tried to pull her out of there and they started punching me”.

I am so outraged and I hope you are too.

And for this to happen during Pride Month truly highlights WHY we need Pride Month to begin with.

I also cannot relate to all the straight people out there saying that we should also have ‘Straight Month’ and I say this AS A STRAIGHT PERSON. Just a day previous to this event here was a group of straight white males in Boston who got their “straight parade” approved by the city. You see, they found it unfair that “the gays” got their own parade- that they got to celebrate their orientation for an entire month. Let me be the one to educate you: Pride month is not about getting drunk and wearing funny outfit. It is about the EQUAL treatment of everyone in our society. It is about a group of people that have been persecuted over who they love. People would have been victims of brutal attacks because they love someone of the same sex. And that’s not to say that straight people are never victims of crimes, of course we are, but this my friends is hate aimed at a community. At the LGBT community and sadly it is not the first or last time such a horrific thing has or will happen.

In fact, figures from 2018 from the Met Police show that attacks on London's LGBT community have almost doubled since 2014 and the rest of the world isn’t any better.

Statistics show that more than two thirds of LGBT people said they had avoided holding hands with a same-sex partner for fear of a negative reaction from others and since this story came out, so many same sex couple are coming forward with their own experiences of hate and violence towards them because of their sexual orientation.

What the actual fuck?!

I honestly do not get what is happening to this world. It feels like we are going back in time to some dark ass place where you can only be white, christian and male otherwise you’re fucked.

Enough is enough people.

Listen, I don’t ask a lot here, but I gotta ask you - you think this is wrong? freaking say it. Shout it, share it, be vocal because there are too many people out there spreading their hate loud and clear and we have to stop them!
